The thing is that we all need some kind of praise. We struggle for it almost every day in every possible way. We often feel that we got some praise from some people, not for those things we wanted to get it, but for some other reasons we didn’t actually think about. Perhaps they know our desires better than we know them ourselves.
On the other hand we often praise the person who actually didn’t deserve it, just to make one feels better and to give them some self-confidence, although one feels they don’t deserve it. Unfortunately, that can create a counter effect with that person because one won’t trust us when it comes to a real reason for praising. To admit others that we make mistakes is a kind a big deal. We need to bring down our own ego. It´s not easy to achieve it, but once we have it, both sides, praise or critique, will have a moderate impact on us.
